NGC6992, the eastern veil nebula in the consteallation of cygnus. This is just a small part of the whole so called cygnus loop. It is a remenant of a supernova around 10.000 to 20.000 years ago of a star that was about 20 times bigger than our sun.
First discovered in 1784 by William Herschel. The veil nebula is expanding with a speed of about 1.5 million kilometers per second.
This image was my first long exposure image taken with my new equipment. This time also with auto-guiding using PHD2. Sadly I messed up the framing so that a part is missing on the left side of the nebula.
I also tried new post processing options and methods in hope to extract and push the fine details of the filaments in the nebula.
